Golf Tournament: 2008 - Watch for coming information.

Our Annual Golf Tournament will again be held at Magnolia Landing in North Fort Myers ( 3501 Avenida Del Vera ). We had a stellar event there last year, with a great golf course, great food, lots of prizes and fun. The tournament will be a four person scramble held on October 11, 2008, with a shotgun start at 8:30 AM.  Entry fee is $65 per player which includes golf, cart, & lunch.  There will be door prizes, and contests for long drive, closest to pin, and putting.  Contact: Rick Jones (239-731-1931) or Peggy Gleason (239-898-8718) for further information.

2007: This year’s Rotary Club of North Fort Myers Annual Golf Tournament (pictures), directed by Andy Watson, Chairperson, was a huge success. Thanks to Magnolia Landing for hosting the event, to our main sponsor Bulldog Boatwerks, our Prize Hole Sponsors, hole sponsors and door prize sponsors.  This year’s event was to benefit the Uncommon Friends Foundation.  This organization has a curriculum for teachers in schools and colleges across the country for teaching performance character and moral character to students for excellence and ethics.  They also work with businesses with a business ethics program for high ethical behavior in how they conduct their daily operations and during times of crises.  One of the players is quoted saying "I play a lot of golf tournaments and Rotary Golf events and this was the best one I have ever attended".  The Rotary Club of North Fort Myers worked together to organize and execute this event to raise money for local scholarships and community projects in addition to Uncommon Friends.   Below, Andy Watson, President Elect and Golf Tournament Chairperson presented a $2,000 check to Arlene Roth, Executive Director for Uncommon Friends.

2006: The major recipient of the tournament was the Alvin Dubin Alzheimer's Resource Center in Fort Myers. Below, President Ken Hess (left) and Sam Ferrell, Golf Tournament Chairperson (right), present a check for $2,000 to Dotty St. Amand, Executive Director for the center.
